HAWKS Behavior

We are H.A.W.K.S.

Homestead uses a school-wide behavior program based on the nationally known Positive Behavior Intervention Support System (PBIS). The idea is to model and reward positive behaviors. Behaviors that are not positive will be handled in a consistent manner throughout the building. We are calling our positive behavior model “HAWKS”. It is an acronym that stands for Honest, Achieving, Working Hard, Kind and Safe.  All first graders will be a part of the school-wide behavior program and receive HAWKS coupons and/or HAWKS stickers as a reward for positive behaviors.  Once a month a student from each first-grade classroom will be selected as a HAWKS Champion and will be featured on morning announcements.

Each week students are rewarded for good behavior by choosing prizes from our classroom treasure boxes.  We are looking for prize donations to keep the treasure boxes new and exciting.  Below are some suggested items.  Feel free to grab additional items you think the kids might enjoy.
