Lunch and Snacks

Lunch and Lunch Money
If you ask a first grader about their favorite part of the school day, the answer is often lunch or recess! To help keep lunch a positive experience, a little planning goes a long way.

School lunch is free for all students. However, if your child would like to purchase snacks or additional items, they will need funds available in their lunch account. You can access your child's account and make online payments by clicking here. Daily lunch menus are available online. get lunch menus and detailed lunch and breakfast information. Parents are welcome to join their child for lunch any day. Students love to have guests join them!

We suggest that you discuss the purchase of snacks with your child. Snacks are available every day in the lunchroom and are an additional cost.

We are scheduled for a 25-minute lunch at 11:05am. After lunch each day, the children are taken outside for a 20-minute recess.

Snack

We have snack time during our morning recess and afternoon read-aloud. This is to ensure that instructional time is not interrupted by being hungry. We encourage you to send in two SMALL, HEALTHY snacks each day that your child can open independently. Snacks should be easy to eat and require little or no cleanup.

Water Bottles

Please send your child to school with a water bottle each day. If possible, choose a water bottle that your child does not need to unscrew the lid to get a drink.  This will help to reduce spills in the classroom. We ask that bottles be filled with water, please, and no other beverages.  We have water bottle refilling stations that the kids can use to refill when needed.

Allergies

If your child has any food allergies, please notify both the school nurse and your child's teacher before the first day of school. When special snacks or treats are planned for the class, we will communicate with the families of students with known food allergies so that every child can safely participate or have an appropriate alternative available.
